Passage for explanation-
Explain with reference to the context one of the following passage.
A. The village with best had walls made of mud mixed with water and cow dung.Their peak roofs were thatched-bundles of grass tied to bamboo poles stretched across the rafters. That day the pumpkin vins that grew over them were in bloom, trailing streaks of yellow over drab walls.
Reference to the context: these line have been taken from the lesson "A girl with a basket" written by William .C. Douglas and American judge. He happened visit kumaon hills in 1950 lines describe an route description of areas of this region.
Explanation: Mr Douglas was travelling in an Indian train from Delhi to Bareilly. In this region his flat land running to the horizon. Hot humid air was moving from South West. he saw Indian villages with grand heritage of Indian peasent culture.walls of house were made of mud.they were painted with cow dung. at that time dear were no houses made of brick. The roofs thatched with bundles of grass and bamboo poles. Mr. Douglas was fascinated to see pumpkin vins growing all over that area. many wall were covered by these pumpkin vines and these vines were glorifying the beauty of nature.
B. They were Poor people to start with; they were poorer as they begin their long track; for all they could carry was a bit of food and a few belongings. soon they were out of food.a few days after the the started, they began to fall by the way-side from the weakness of hunger, and died where they fell.(2016)
Reference to the context: these line have Been taken from the lesson "a girl with a basket" written by William C. Douglas. He was surrounded by refugee children. their present came to India to take shelter and protection. they left Pakistan for ever. they were afraid of being tortured.
Explanation: in 1947 India was divided into two parts and Pakistan came into existence. a large number of people left Pakistan. they decided to go to India. all of them were poor.when they started their journey to India they became more poorer their journey to India was full of many difficulties. they were able only to carry a bit of food and very few luggage. due to so many difficulties all of them could not reach India. some of them died on the way due to long journey there was so much tired and hungry.due to weakness of hunger and fatigue they fell by the wayside. they died were they fell. they were unfortunate people and they suffered so much.

Ans. D little girl did not accept the gratuity and referred it to the the author with pride and grace like a lady. when the author bought her basket see whipped her eyes and smiled.

Ans. The writer William C Douglas was an American and therefore rich.he could buy the articles of the refugee children with good price.that is why they descended on him like locusts.
