Passage for explanation
1.Explain with reference to the context any of the following passage.
(a) I do not know which of us got into the carriage first. Indeed, I did not know he was in the carriage at all for some time. It was the last train from London to a midland town- a stopping train, an infinitely Leisurely train, one of those trains which give you an understanding of eternity.
Reference to the context: these are the opening lines of the first para of the lesson 'a fellow traveller' written by A.G.gardiner pen named as Alpha of the the plough. There is a nice narration and interaction of the narrator and that of a mosquito. afterwards the narrator develops a friendly feeling with that mosquito.
Explanation: The narrator of the incident was travelling in a passenger train from London. one by one passengers started shifting down from the compartment of the train. and in the end there left none pessenger expecting the narrative but this was not the reality as there was someone is in it also. The narrator is not aware of the two who entered the compartment first. this was the fact that for a few minutes narrator felt that he was the lone passenger in the compartment. but reality was not so this strain was the last one to move from London to midland town. This train used to stop at every station. It was a great luxury to have a tour why this train the narrator thought it a good chance to understand the feeling of eternity.
(B) you can open the window or shut it without provoking of protest. you can open both windows or shut both indeed you can go on opening them and sutting them as a sort of festival of freedom. you can have any corner you choose and try all of them in turn. you can lie at full length on the cushions and enjoy the luxury of breaking the regulations and possibly the start of D.O.R.A herself only the D.O.R.A will not noun that her heart is broken you have escaped even D.O.R.A.
Reference to the context: these lines have been taken from the entertaining lesson "a fellow traveller" written by eminent essayist 'A.G gardiner' the writer was travelling by a slow moving train it was full of passenger when it started but passengers got down at every station at last the writer was left alone. Here he tells us the advantage of being alone in a railway compartment.
Explanation: sometimes it happens that one is left alone in the compartment of a railway train. the writer se that you can enjoy yourself in such a situation.your train moves forward through the night with jerks making much noise when you find yourself alone in the compartment you are happy to feel that you have full freedom of behaviour. you are free to be a anyway. nobody can check you in anything you like you are free to do whatever you like to do. you can speak out your thoughts loudly without any fear of being over here and even the defence of the relay f is not operative at this stage you are wholly away from the clutches of this legislation.
(C) at present, I was a ready figure, a thing for laughter and derision.by being merciful I could reassert the moral dignity of man and go back to my corner with honour. I withdraw the sentence of death, I said, returning to my seat. I cannot kill you, but I can reprieve you.
Reference to the context: these lines have been taken from the lesson A fellow traveller written by A.G gardiner the narrator realise atmosphere to is also a moral being there for he should be honoured.
Explanation: The tiny creature has made the narrator a figure of fun, on which everybody can laugh the activities of the tiny creature has surprised the narrator. he see in him many attractive quality slowly and slowly the narrator start swing attracted towards his super qualities. but himself he has become a figure of fun and laughter. If he uses mercy,he can declare that he is a moral wing and so he can go to his seat honourably.
