Passage for explanation


(A) phatik Chakravorti was ringleader among the boys of the village. A new mischief got into his head. there was heavy log lying on the mud-flat of the river waiting to be shaped into a mast for a boat. he decided that they should all work together to shift the log by manforce from its place and roll it away. the owner of the log would be angry and surprised, and they would all enjoy the fun. Everyone seconded the proposal and it was carried unanimously.


Reference to the context: these lines have been taken from the lesson The homecoming written by RN Tagore these lines narrate the character of the hero named phatik.


Explanation: There is a team of naughty boys of the village. the instigator of this team is a boy of 14 named as phatik Chakravorti.His mind is always busy in planning some mischief. at this moment his mind has got and lovely idea of doing mischief. a heavy log was lying there in the mud near the riverside this log will be saved into a must for a boat the boys are prepared to exit strength to through the log into the river water. than the opener of the wood will be surprised to see it now here and this way these naughty boys will get a good topic of entertainment. the proposal was passed unanimously  as team for this mischuievous activity.


(b) There was no more backward boy in the whole school then pathik. he gaped and remained silent when the teacher asked him a question, and like an overladen  ass patiently suffered all the blows that came down on his back.when other boys were out at play, he stood wistfully by the window and gazed at the roofs of the distant houses. And if by chance he espied children playing on the open terrace of any roof, his heart would with loging.


Reference to the context: These lines have been taken from the lesson The homecoming written by RN Tagore.These lines through light on the pathetic condition of phatik who was admitted into a city school in colcutta.


Explanation: phatik had come to Kolkata from a small village, so his background was village oriented .Pathak attitude and temperament were not fit for the  atmosphere of big city .the same tendency used to continue in his school as well as. he was the most unfit student in the whole school .most of the time during school hours he used to keep mum .his activity was a dumb so in class period he was compared to the overlaid and as who suffered all atrocities on his back. during play how was when other student moved into some open space for support activities, he used to sit near some window and start giving in to watched blue sky. He wanted to take active participation in playing activities but was unable to do so.


(b) The next day pathik become conscious for a short time. he turned his eyes about the room, as if expecting someone to come.at last with an air of this appointment, his head sank back on the pillow. he turned his face to wall with a deep sigh.

Bisshmber knew is thoughts,and bending down his head, whispered "Phatik, I have sent for you mother". the day went by. the doctor said in a troubled voice that the voice condition was very critical.

Explanation: Pathik become seriously ill. he was down with fever. next day his condition improved slightly. he became normal in his behaviour. this improvement in his condition was for a sort span. he tried to see towards the outer door. it seemed that he was waiting for someone's arrival what there was known to enter through the door. so,he felt disappointed in his heart and he Laid his head back on the pillow.then he took a deep sigh for non-fulfillment of decide expectation. his uncle bishamber was an intelligent fellow, so he understood his in nephew thoughts. he whispered into Pathik year that message had been sent to his mother about their condition of phatik.as the time passed on,the condition of fatigue are you rated once again.
