Passage for explanation-


(a) political and economically India faces many problems of great difficulty, and no one can forecast her future with any certainty. But it is safe to predict that,whatever the future maybe, the Indians of coming generations will not be  unconvincing and self conscious copies of Europeans, but will be men rooted in their traditions, and aware of the unity of their culture.


Reference to the context: Theses lines are taken from the lesson The heritage of India written by A.L basham. all the Indians irrespective of their religion are proud of their ancient culture today. The intelligent Indians are ready to get rid of the weakness of our ancient culture so that they may progress.


Explanation: The writer says India is facing many problems. And those problems are very difficult. They pertain to polity and economy. Nobody can certainly for tell the future of India in political and economical areas. The writer is confident of something for Indians future. He forecast that the Indians of coming generations will stick to their medicines and they will not remain poor, unreal and uncomfortable imitators of the people of Europe. They will follow their traditions and will be aware that their culture is on the way of progress.




(b) The quiet and gentle happiness which has at all times pervaded Indian life where operessions, disease and poverty have not overclouded it will surely not vanish before the more hectic waste of the west.


Reference to the context: These lines have been taken from the lesson The heritage of India written A.L basham. according to author there is too much  in Hindu civilization it will keep on it will never destroy.


Explanation: Indian life has always been full of white and gentle happiness. There have been subjects and and hardness disease and poverty in India. but these things could not overcloud it. but this happiness will not disappear before the Western bass full of frantic activities.




(c) much that was useless in ancient Indian cultural has already perished. The extravagant and Barbarous hecatombs of the vedic age have long since been forgotten, though animal sacrifice continuous in sacts. windows have long kids to be burnt on their husband pyres.girl's may not by loving married in childhood.


Reference to the context: These have been taken from the lesson The heritage of India written by A.L basham .The author is that there are so many  old customs in the society but their existence of these customs now.


Explanation: The author says that time is changing rapidly. the cruel customs of the vedic period do not attract a man of modern age. Now sati pratha is not in existence now-a-days windows are not burnt with the dead bodies of their husbands. There is no childhood marriage system prevalent now, because this system  has been declared illegal by the statute.
